About Valencia

The city of Valencia contains magnificent beaches with fine sand and warm water, that during the winter allow passage close to the water’s edge. The city’s coastline is divided into eight beaches: El Saler, La Devesa, Recati, Cabañal-Arenas, Pinedo, Mareny de Sanc Llorenç, Dossel, and, best known of all, Malvarrosa.

The port of Valencia is divided into two beach zones. To the north are Malvarrosa and Cabañal-Arenas, which are the most frequented and offer every service. The two beaches are connected by a beautiful promenade which provides for every desirable need and comfort, making this the most vibrant part of the city, 24 hours a day.

To the south are Playa Pinedo, El Saler and Le Devesa, which are surrounded by dunes and pine groves that protect them from the coastal winds. Moreover they are found in some of the most beautiful surroundings of the west, close to the Park of Albufera.

In all these beaches one can enjoy windsurfing and sailing, and there are also golf courses if you wish to use them. The canals of the lagoon of Albuferra can be crossed by boat, or you can take a walk by the Malvarrosa or Cabañal and enjoy the views of the Gulf of Valencia and try the tapas of the region on its terraces (at night this is one of the pedestrian zones of the city).

The region of Valencia has become known for its nightlife – young people go out on Thursday or Friday and often don’t come home until Sunday. Nocturnal activity is concentrated in Cánovas, the pub zone in el Carmen, where people drink “chupitos” and where the crowd is diverse. The older generations are found in the pubs of Juan Lorens, la Avendia de Aragón, and Xúquer, where you will find singing on most nights. The largest number of discos is found in the area of Viveros, “Avenida Blasco Ibañez” and “Avenida Primado Reig”.
