9.6My opinion about this hotel Mercure Villa Romanazzi CarducciJESSY - Aug 5, 2015
I liked my room (a single). It was modern, in muted greys, with a nice bathroom, efficient airconditioning, and a comfortable bed. You could get BBC news, CNN and Al Jazeera as well as Italian channels. I loved the breakfasts. There was such a tempting choice with cooked items and cold cuts as well as many different kinds of freshly baked bread and cakes. There was cereal and fresh fruit and different types of croissant, with choices of hot drinks and juice. The swimming pool and garden were a joy. The hotel is modern and, clevely, has a lot of mirror glass in its construction which means that the sky, surroundings and trees are reflected in it and the building does not intrude. I ate in the restaurant several times and found the food tasty and inventive. Once I had tuna with carrot mousse and another time, chicken burger with salad on a charcoal hotplate. I only gave the location 8 out of 10 because the hotel seems quite a way from the centre of the city, if it is hot weather, and there is not a lot to commend the walk to the station, along a busy, rather ugly road. If there had been a bus, I would have tried to get it sometimes but it did not seem as if a useful bus passed that way! However, I did like Bari, particularly the Old Town and enjoyed going to eat there some evenings. I did not mind the walk back late at night, asI felt safe, it was an opportunity to walk off some calories and the evenings were so extraordinarily warm. All in all I had a very good stay and can highy recommend this hotel.
